Fintan Lucy is a singer, musician, songwriter and composer from Cork in Ireland. He performed regularly around Cork and beyond as a solo act and part of various duos and bands. He has a special interest in
traditional singing, which he studied as an elective as part of his MA in Community Music, University of Limerick 2000.
He was selected for the Cork/Swansea writers exchange 2003, organised by Munster Literature Centre, Cork, and as Cork County Council Artist in Residence in the town of Mallow, Co. Cork Sep – Dec 2003.
Has co-written songs with many songwriters from around the country, at a number of songwriting retreats organised by IMRO, and elsewhere. One song features in full in the 2017 movie Blind Pass. As a gigging
musician is known for an extensive repertoire of songs in surprisingly varied genres. Has performed in New York, England, Wales, Germany, Czech Republic and Switzerland.

His work has been played several times on Irish national radio station, Lyric FM.
From 1998 to 2024 he worked as a community musician, fostering creativity and musical inclusion with many groups in Cork City and County. Most recently, he was part of the teaching team for the Inclusive
Music Ensemble (CIT Cork), a groundbreaking project using electronic and experimental approaches, and giving access to third level education facilities to participants for the first time.
